Wedding Wanderlust: Cinque Terre

Honeymoon in Cinque Terre

With the number of destination weddings on the rise, we at The Romanticist Studios felt it necessary to dedicate a series on the blog to some of the incredible yet unique destinations to hold your wedding.  Every month we will be featuring a new location in our Wedding Wanderlust series, with details on why we feel these places will leave your weddings guests talking about it for years to come.

The first beautiful destination we are featuring today is Cinque Terre.  This rugged portion of coast is located on the Italian Riviera in the Liguria region of Italy and has become a very popular tourist destination.  Cinque Terre, meaning "Five Lands" boasts an organic steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea and it comprised of five different cities. Enjoy a little glimpse of Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore.

What makes this destination a romantic and timeless locale is how removed it is from any type of visible corporate development, allowing the focus to be in the beauty of the natural landscape and surroundings.  Paths, trains and boats connect the five villages and cars cannot reach them from the outside.  Imagine you guests being escorted by boat to your secluded and peaceful ceremony location, it doesn't get anymore romantic than that!

Enjoy these stunning images from Cinque Terre and make sure to comment below if you have travelling here and what your favourite area or village was!

Civil ceremonies in the town hall of Vernazza are performed in a former Convent in the town centre, with a picturesque bell tower and a medieval cloister. This wedding location is on the highest part of town and boasts incredible views of the village and sea. The interior contains preserved icons of Saints and Frescoes.

Civil Ceremonies in Riomaggiore takes place in the wedding hall close to the characteristic cinqueterre houses built on the hill side. Bright and colorful, this wedding hall offer spectacular views overlooking the sea and great photo backdrops for your ceremony in Cinqueterre.

We also recommend an authentic reception on Riomaggiore's Town Square or at one of their small restaurants overlooking the sea. Wow your guests even further by switching the traditional wine  by truck loads of locally produced Limoncello!

Got inspired to have a destination wedding?? It is not that complicated if you have the right support

If you had all the money and all the time in the world?

PS: Not that I had either...but never hurts to dream.
